The third manufacturing facility of Comed Chemicals Ltd, coming up at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh, will be commissioned by mid -June this year. Comed Chemicals Ltd, started its operations at Baroda, has two Plants situated at Rania and Por, near Baroda.
Its main plant at Rania near Baroda enjoys WHO and ISO 9001 (2000) certification and its upcoming plant in Himachal is being readied to meet the US FDA standards.
The company has state of art R&D facility that is approved by Department of Scientific and Industrial research (DSIR) New Delhi. In order to keep a cutting edge, it has a standing tie up with Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council, New Delhi (A Central Government Enterprise) i.e. Tifac-Core Research Project for NDDS, being run at MS University at Baroda.
The company has maintained a growth rate of more than 20% on an average, and has carved a respectable niche in highly competitive environments. The company is well on its way to join the bigger league this year when it, crosses the Rs 100 crore per annum turnover figure.

Comed happens to be the only company in Gujarat manufacturing formulations and empty hard gelatin capsules under one roof. It presently manufactures 7 million capsules per day in sizes 0, 1 and 2. It has recently undertaken Technology up-gradation in order to meet the stringent export requirement.
It has already made forays into export market and have established offices in Kenya and Dubai. In year 2005-06 alone it has introduced 28 new products in the market, which are getting excellent response from the medical fraternity.
